About us

  • Technology is constantly changing the way we live and work. The role of leader these days not only requires that we adapt to emerging technology, but strategise to give our teams and company the best advantage possible in this unknown future.

Future Technology Collective runs quarterly events where leaders from a variety of disciplines share content, ideas, opinions and questions about how our world will change as technology continues to evolve. We provide a safe space to consider challenges that may arise in our industries so that together, we can transform challenges into opportunities, creating an advanced, compassionate, and uplifting world. This group is for anyone currently in or interested in leadership across all industries. Events attract a diverse range of people, including tech enthusiasts, futurists, academics, entrepreneurs, business change makers and anyone interested in exploring the role of technology in shaping our collective future. Discussions focus on emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and robotics, as well as the ethical and social implications of their use. The group is a welcoming space for anyone who wants to engage in thoughtful conversations and explore the possibilities and challenges of a rapidly changing technological landscape.

“a breath of fresh air.”

Attending the FTC event was a fantastic experience! Post covid there was certainly a drop in face to face interactions so this was a real breah of fresh air and a positive step for more in person events. The talks and  discussions were engaging and got me thinking in new ways about my work. Plus, the networking was really beneficial. I met some really awesome folks and had some great conversations that I know will help me down the track. It was more than just a learning experience; it was a chance to connect and talk about the current market with like minded folks in the tech world. I can't wait for the next one!

Sarah, Talent at Buildkite

“insightful & Engaging discussion.”

The meetup last year was a standout moment for me. An insightful and engaging discussion where professionals from different industries shared their approaches to ethical leadership in tech, and tried to share thoughts on some tough, relevant and perhaps controversial topics, such as how AI fits into our future. Being open to listen, ask questions and network with such impactful people in a personal way was very rewarding.

Christian, iOS Engineer at Bilue

“i left feeling engaged and inspired.”

I attended one of the Future Tech Collective events in 2023. It was a diverse and intelligent panel from a cross-section of industries talking through various thought-provoking ideas and subjects. I haven't been to many events where I left feeling engaged and inspired as I did from this one. They are definitely onto something good here!

Natalie, People & Culture at Zip

“Stretch, challenge and share thinking.”

The Future Tech Collective event walked the talk. It brought together people from different areas – law, technology, education and more. The conversations – both formal and informal managed to stretch, challenge and share thinking in a relaxed and welcoming environment

Meet
the Team

Ruth had an idea to build a community for leaders to think about and support each other in this ever changing world. She recruited G, and together they create space for leaders to change the future.

  • Ruth launched FTC to help build a future where leaders across all industries stand united and well-informed, navigating disruptive technological shifts with purpose.

Ruth’s day job is Chief Growth Officer at Bilue. She drives growth opportunities across the business, breaking barriers between departments to ensure they have the teams and people working together to fulfil Bilue's potential.

  • G has built a career working with people in the technology industry. She’s always loved how passionate people in technology are about technology, but tech is not her jam. What technology can do for people, and how it can impact society and how we work is far more interesting to her.

G runs Playgrounded with her co-founder Stefan Bramble - a training consultancy that helps companies collaborate effectively. We bring systems psychodynamic theories and practices to the workplace and use play to increase engagement.
